James Murphy reprimands crowd at Wireless Festival

LCD Soundsystem had to duck a barrage of bottles this weekend during their headline slot at the Wireless festival.

Front man James Murphy took exception to the hail of projectiles and called halt to the set temporarily to chastise the crowd saying, “Hey anonymous asshole throwing stuff, do that to my face and I’ll kick your face in”.

Murphy then quipped, “And then I’ll pay your medical bill.”

His words seemed to have the desired effect as the highly strung crowd were less antagonistic for the second half.

Murphy even went as far as to complement a section of the audience saying: “I like this side because everyone is moshing, boys AND girls. And that’s the coolest thing.”

The band have recently released their third album This is Happening and are riding high on a succession of packed out festival slots.
