British rapper Kano has defended Gorillaz for their headlining slot at Glasto this week after they received criticism from some quarters.
Kano said, “I suppose people expected hit after hit but I admire Damon for giving the fans something brave and different. The set was musically educating.â€
The London born artist holds the band in high esteem saying, “Gorillaz are ahead of their time and I was chuffed to be part of something so special. It just felt like history was being made.â€
Damon is set to appear on the hip-hop stars new disc, Method To The Maadness, out in August.
Kano has collaborated with a number of artists for the new project saying, “I’ve also worked with Hot Chip and Chase and Status on the album. I thrive on working outside of my comfort zone.â€
