The Prodigy have been forced to pull out of the Arena Drive festival in Moscow after a freak weather storm destroyed the stage they were scheduled to play on overnight.
The electronic dance legends are infamous for their live performances and for pushing the boundaries with high octane set lists and dazzling cerebral light shows.
They had been scheduled to play on the Tushino Airfield to a sell out Russian crowd who will now be left disappointed in their thousands by the last minute pull out.
Event organisers say the cancellation was unavoidable due to the severity of damage done by the sudden storms and they have said, “The live music side of the event for tonight had to be cancelled by the promoters as it was impossible to rebuild the stage and production for the festival. We spent all our time today to rebuild on another part of the site but it was not possible.â€
The band have released a statement through their official site apologising to fans for the savage let down saying, “We always do everything we can to make the show go ahead, but unfortunately this time it was completely out of our hands, they tried to rebuild in another location but couldn’t do in time. We are gutted, but will be back to play for our Russian fans and next time it will happen! Respect the prodigyâ€
