Quentin Tarantino’s long time editor Sally Menke dies in LA heatwave

Sally Menke, the editor of all Quentin Tarantino films to date, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 56.

It is reputed that Menke collapsed of heat stroke whilst walking her dog in the Hollywood Hills yesterday after record temperatures scorched the valley, reaching as high as 48C.

Medical officials fear that Menke, who had a history of seizures suffered an attack in the heatwave and died from hyperthermia over night.

The Oscar nominated Menke started working with Tarantino on Reservoir Dogs in ’92 collaborated with him all the way through his back catalogue up to last year’s Inglourious Basterds.

Dean Parisot, Menke’s husband commemorated his wife saying she was “truly proud of two things in her life – above all her family and her work.”

Her first Oscar nomination came for Pulp Fiction in ’95 and speaking a few years back Tarantino acclaimed Menke as “hands down my number one collaborator”.

Menke’s body was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday in Beachwood Canyon with her black Labrador still by her side.
