Faithless, Pearl Jam and Green Day are to headline the popular Belgian festival Rock Werchter this year.
The festival takes place in the small village of Werchter in Rotselaar and the dates for 2010 are confirmed as Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th July.
An army of Brits already make the short journey across the Channel every year for the event and this following is sure to grow with a line-up of star names announced already.
The following bands have been confirmed for the four day festival: Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Faithless, Muse, Green Day, LCD Soundsystem, Stereophonics, La Roux, The Specials, Paramore, Editors, Alice in Chains, Vampire Weekend, The XX, Vitalic and The Black Keys.
There are no alternative stages at this one, no outlets for poetry or comedy as at other bigger festivals in the UK.
However, this is not to the detriment of Rock Werchter as it is often impossible to see everything you want to at a bigger meeting like Glastonbury as there is so much on there are inevitably clashes.
Rock Werchter has down sized, stripped down and approached the festival from a more elementary stand point, just two stages- just good music, accompanied by fine ales and tasty food of course.
