Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers arrived at the Liverpool Uni on Friday to quite simply shake the foundations of the Stanley Theatre with some good ol’ fashioned rock.

The lads kicked off the night with You Love Us and the crowd quite simply did love them, with everyone singing along to every song from the get go.

The Manics played a huge set consisting of 23 songs along with a surprise visit from Ian McCulloch (Echo and the Bunnymen) much to the crowds delight to sing a rendition of The Killing Moon.

They played a catalogue of old and new songs finishing the night with the classic A Design for Life.

You could see how much the band enjoyed being on stage as the crowd connected in a way not many bands manage to do these days. They later stated on their twitter (@ManicsPostcards) after the gig had finished summing up the night as the best gig ever. ‘Best ever gig in liverpool- audience were stunning’.
