Brand New are set to rock Reading and Leeds Festival and release forthcoming album, Daisy.
The Long Island foursome – made up of Brian Lane, Jesse Lacey, and Garrett Tierney recruited guitarist, and soon to be friend Vincent Accardi – were formed in 2000.
They recorded and released their first record Your Favorite Weapon selling 300,000 copies.
Brand New delved into US tours, headlining and supporting The Get Up Kids, Dashboard Confessional and Finch. Finch took them overseas to the UK in 2003 where the band made its debut on foreign soil.
Brand New sold-out the Brixton Academy and Hammersmith Apollo and played an arena tour with Incubus and festival slots at Reading/Leeds, Glastonbury and Give It a Name.
In June 2003 Brand New released their beloved and best-selling, certified Gold, Deja Entendu.
They released two music videos “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows†and “Sic Transit Gloria…,†and appeared on Fuse TV, Jimmy Kimmel Live and MTV.
Brand New’s albums The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, were released in November 2006.
The band has worked with renowned mixer/producer Rich Costey (Mars Volta, Ash) and found themselves in Mississippi with veteran producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, The Hives), and wound up finishing recordings with friend and producer Mike Sapone in the rural mountains of New England.
Brand New headed back into the studio last year to start work on their forthcoming album, Daisy, due for release September 22nd, 2009.
This time the project started and finished in Mike Sapone’s basement studio where the band slept, ate, and eventually eked out all the tracks for the record which was then mixed by Dave Sardy (Barkmarket, Cold War Kids, Oasis) in California.
Singer Jesse Lacey said: “Things started growing on the Warped Tour.
“We entered Canada playing to hundreds of people each show and then people had started to listen to the record, and then the videos started rotation, and by the time we got back to the US we were playing to thousands every day.
“It was exciting, and we were grateful to be able to watch something we had created take new shape right in front of our eyes like that.
“We can’t wait to get back to England and hit the festivals.”
Brand New play Reading/Leeds Festival and a smattering of intimate UK gigs. They embark on a North American headline tour in the fall of 2009.
Daisy is released on 22nd September.
