Hotly tipped UK singer/songwriter Pete Lawrie has announced details of a literally ‘out there’ mini-tour, as he gets ready to perform four days of impromptu acoustic sets in his native Wales.
Currently pencilled in the diary are venues such as Penrith Pier, Ystradfllte Waterfalls, Bluebell Woods (Brecon) and Llangenith’s sand dunes.
In total the young artist and his band will look to play in over a dozen distinctive local settings as they grab their acoustic instruments and head off wacky-racers style into the Welsh countryside.
The escapade will be captured on film by proffessional documentary maker Tom Swindell, resulting in a series of short films to be run later in the month online and on TV.
As an additional sweetner for the fans, Pete and his band are offering the chance for them to play in your living room (or kitchen or bedroom …you get the idea).
To be in with a chance of replacing your stereo with the real thing fans will need to tweet details of the Long Welsh Weekend alongside the following hashtag (#longwelshweekend) and the town/ village/ city they want Pete to play in. Pete will then pick the best location and come and visit on the Saturday!
Following the tour Pete’s debut EP How Could I Complain is due for release April 26th through Field/Island Records (and available for download now).
