The Chemists have been confirmed as special guests of the recently reformed Skunk Anansie on their forthcoming European tour.

They release debut album Theories of Dr Lovelock, on November 2nd, through Distiller Records on CD and digital download. Featuring 14 no-holds-barred melodic rock songs produced and mixed by Grammy award winning producer Adrian Bushby (Muse/Doves/Foo Fighters) and Kevin Bacon/Jonathan Quarmby (Richard Hawley/Mew.)

Theories of Dr Lovelock opens with an introduction by British actor Richard E Grant, whose signature vocals lead into the opening track This City about what happens when drugs and drink meet jetlag and hookers in Hong Kong, as experienced by vocalist Johnny Benn firsthand.

The forthcoming single Milk and Honey, is about a deluded man who can’t understand why his girlfriend left him, and the accompanying video features a guest appearance by Howard Marks, the legendary Mr Nice.

Other highlights include Hear Our Song (which will be featured on Sky TV’s Rugby Union coverage) and Something for the Weekend, which is about the lead up to the weekend and the debauchery that follows.

Other stand-out tracks include Radio Booth (inspired by a visit to Red Dragon Radio in Wales) and Hot in That, which is about supermodel’s ability to wear great clothes but not able to do much else. The album finishes with a dialogue from Richard E Grant and fans’ live favourite, the Chemists’ version of Britney Spears mighty Toxic, which was, “a bit of fun which got out of control”, explains guitarist Sam James.

The Chemists have toured with Feeder, Boxer Rebellion and The Music, amongst others, and recently performing on the ‘Distiller Nights’ nationwide tour.
